Last month Gorman put out a call to artists worldwide to submit an example of their artwork, and win the chance to collaborate on a capsule collection.
A few people reached out to me and said my new work would be perfect as a fabric for Gorman. I don’t normally enter competitions, but I had to agree - these vibrant colours and patterns I have been creating would look AMAZING as fabric.
So I entered! And so many people loved the piece! The feedback was awesome. Unfortunately I didn’t win, there were over 3000 incredible entries - you can view the winners here.
BUT I am so keen to go ahead and turn this into fabric! And with my new sewing skills, I am going to turn this future fabric into some clothing. I can see it already, it is going to be amazing. I just need to do some research into how to make this happen as fabrics and textile design is not an area I am too familiar with.
Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
I love hearing your thoughts on my new artworks so please keep the feedback coming.
