We celebrated Arlo’s 3rd birthday this week. 3 years of being a mum to this kid, my number #1 studio assistant and the light of my life.
Becoming a mother has made me more sure than ever of what I want to be doing, yet at the same time I have found becoming a mother has had a huge impact on my ability to be creative, particularly this year when I spent 5 months solo parenting.
One of the biggest questions I probably still ask myself daily is, how are you meant to continue being creative and produce creative work when parenting children - especially small children? I have had many many conversations about this in my DMs over the last few years, and have quietly - and very slowly been working on a way to share these stories.
I am really excited to bring you my latest side project in early 2022, the @creativemotherpodcast - a podcast about creativity, motherhood and business to help creative mothers gain a feeling of community, understanding, and inspiration. Featuring interviews with a range of creative mothers that dive deep into the experience of remaining creative and producing creative work all while raising children. These conversations will create an open and honest space to talk about the impact of motherhood on women, creativity and business.
I had hoped to launch this year but lockdown, life, 2021 in general etc. etc. got in the way.
